5 Denver Nuggets goals before the Playoffs begin

5) Take your shot and make a statement
The Clippers and the Lakers are the odds on favorites to win the west. Kawhi and Lebron are top five, if not top three players in the NBA. There is no disputing their greatness. Until last year, Lebron James had been in every NBA Finals since 2010 and won three of them. He was also finals MVP in those three series. Leonard is a two-time finals MVP and champion, as well as Defensive Player of the Year twice. He is the current defending champion on a new and arguably even more talented team.
If the Nuggets want to make some pre-playoff noise then they need to go out and beat the best. It’s a steep hill to climb, but the Nuggets have the horses to come out and play with anyone. We have seen it time and time again during the regular season and, yes, we know the regular season and postseason are not the same animal. A young team only needs to see their opponent bleed once to know they can be killed, and this abbreviated seeding schedule gives outlying teams a chance to put their adversaries on notice.
You may even catch an overconfident team sleeping if they feel comfortable enough in their position. If the Nuggets can get a statement win against the cream of the crop there’s a good chance you will see them take care of business early once the playoffs hit.
