5 players who may have played their last season with Nuggets
Gary Harris
We finally hit our first player who might find himself on a different team next season despite not becoming a free agent in the offseason in Gary Harris.
Harris, a fan favorite due to his dynamic defense, is in an unfortunate position. The Denver Nuggets need to get better and he could easily become a transaction casualty if the Nuggets feel they should make a trade.
His age at 26-years-old, his superb defensive ability and his sparks of offense improve his trade value.
In fact, the only negatives to really point out about Harris are that he’s injury-prone (only playing at least 70 games once in his career) and that his offense is inconsistent. Harris has usually shown that when he gets the opportunities to make a larger impact offensively, then he can make the most of them.
Yet, where does that leave Harris?
Harris isn’t the ideal shooter to play off of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. He’s not good enough with the ball in his hands to make a constant impact as a secondary or tertiary scorer. While a decent starter on a playoff team, his spot in the starting lineup has the most potential to be upgraded.
There aren’t many trade targets being discussed by the Nuggets right now. However, it would make sense that any discussion would start with Harris, who was made available in trades for the past two seasons.
