Michael Porter Jr.

If the Denver Nuggets do indeed attempt to make a blockbuster trade this offseason, Michael Porter Jr. is the most intriguing trade chip they have that’s not named Jamal Murray or Nikola Jokic.

A pure shooter with great size and presence on the board, Porter isn’t the most explosive player you’ll find but he moves with a graceful gait that you don’t often see from 6’10” players. His defensive potential is there, even if he’s far from manifesting it, but right now his inexperience shows on that end more than anything.

At just 22-years-old and having just completed a promising rookie season, MPJ could very well become the third star that the Nuggets need. However, if Denver wants to expedite the process with a move and get a player that they feel is more reliable on offense to boot, then he won’t be part of the team’s future.

The top trade targets for the Nuggets should be Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards and Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Trading for either player will almost certainly require Denver to put Porter on the table.
