The Denver Nuggets made some good moves at the trade deadline, further strengthening their already strong core. Along with JaVale McGee, the Nuggets also acquired athletic forward Aaron Gordon from the Orlando Magic.

While the team had to sacrifice Gary Harris, RJ Hampton and a future first round pick for the former Dunk Champion, the trade will benefit the team as the playoffs continue to get closer. Gordon wanted out of Orlando, and now he seems happy with his new team.

Gordon via Denver Post:

"“I think the style of play fits me a lot better. I think I can help a lot of the guys out around here with my play as well. I think I’m gonna benefit just from getting a re-start, just refreshing with a new coach and some new players.”"

Gordon and the Magic were always going to part ways, with teams such as the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers also in the bidding war for the athletic two-way player. However, it was the Nuggets who were able to acquire him.

Gordon may not be the leading man of the Nuggets, as he settles into a supporting role with the team behind stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, however, he brings a multitude of abilities to this Denver team that will help them make a deep playoff run, which were already showcased in their first game against the Atlanta Hawks.
