What does Jamal Murray’s injury mean for Denver Nuggets’ title window?

The loss of Jamal Murray to an ACL injury was a critical blow to the Nuggets in 2021. They were putting pieces together to solve an NBA championship puzzle following the addition of Aaron Gordon. Still, there are stats that show Jokic’s game remained elite even following the loss of Murray.

It seems we will only catch a glimpse of what the Jokic-Murray prime regime would have looked like here in Denver, and that’s a shame considering the two budding superstars’ pick-and-roll offensive chemistry had Nuggets fans salivating. Still, Murray’s ACL injury and contract situation cannot be ignored.

The Nuggets will likely be without The Blue Arrow until February or March in 2021, according to DNVR‘s Harrison Wind, and are looking for help at the guard spot to buoy their offense until Murray returns.

Murray is looking to bounce back in a big way after showing flashes of brilliance in the bubble and the first 48 games of the 2020-2021 season. Murray was setting career highs before going down and will surely boost the Nuggets as they look to deal with the firepower teams out west possess.

Murray is on track to return with no recorded setbacks and was recently seen squatting with weights and having no issues.

The Nuggets need Murray’s scoring. He was averaging 21.2 per game before getting injured. Denver can taste it, and hopefully, bringing back this next player can keep them afloat while he recovers so they can make a championship push in the later months.
