Any team containing a big three built around Nikola Jokic would pinpoint that as one of their strengths. The reigning MVP is as close to unguardable as it gets, and when defending in the drop, he’s not exactly easy pickings.

Add Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon to the equation and you get an exciting trio of multi-faceted players who can all thrive off each other’s primary skillsets. Jokic ended last season leading the team in eight statistical categories according to RealGM.com, and it would be foolish to think he won’t repeat that feat again this season.

If you want even more encouragement surrounding the team’s high-end talent. there’s every reason to hold out hope that Michael Porter Jr takes another step this season and forces us to view the Denver Nuggets as a team boasting a big-four. Porter Jr is on the cusp of realizing some of his enormous potential and playing with the team’s big three is only going to expedite that process.

A starting unit comprising of Murray, Dozier (yes he should get some starts), Porter Jr, Gordon, and Jokic is going to be a tough unit to slow down on offense, and quite a problem on defense. The Denver Nuggets front office has done a fantastic job in building a team that is designed to accentuate Nikola Jokic’s skillset, and the 2021-22 NBA season could be the best one yet for this current iteration of the Nuggets.
