Denver Nuggets offseason grades: Peyton Watson – C

Peyton Watson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school, but was never able to adjust well to the college game. Going to UCLA with their entire starting lineup returning did not help. He was a poor shooter, but he was good defensively.

The Nuggets are banking on his potential and hoping they can get the player that was a five-star recruit, and not the player that barely played at the end of his collegiate career. It is unlikely that he will see the floor a lot during his rookie season. He most likely will spend the majority of the season in the G League trying to improve his game.

If he can improve, then he will be a solid rotation piece for the roster, if he doesn’t, then he will be hoping to keep his roster spot when his rookie contract expires.
