The Phoenix Suns travel to Denver to wrap up the NBA Christmas day slate of action; as the Nuggets are set to close as 4-point home favorites against their Western Conference foes.

You can find Josh Yourish’s best bets for tonight’s game here, but this article focuses on not just my three favorite betting props available for the night cap, but also how to put them into a same game parlay that would pay out at more than 6/1 odds!

Let’s dive in!

Best Suns vs. Nuggets Prop Bets

  • Michael Porter Jr. OVER 1.5 Three Pointers
  • Bones Hyland OVER 9.5 Points
  • DeAndre Ayton UNDER 9.5 Rebounds

Michael Porter Jr. OVER 1.5 Three Pointers

Porter returned from his groin injury on Friday night in style; draining 2 of 6 3-point shows en route to 18 points while looking like his old self. With no concerns of him playing on a minutes limit as he returns, Porter should continue to light it up against a Suns defense that ranks in the bottom 10 in the NBA in opponent 3-point percentage.

Phoenix over their last 10 games ranks 23rd in the league in defensive rating on the road, while Porter shoots slightly better at home. This is a reasonable number for one of the team’s best perimeter shooters in an ideal matchup.

Bones Hyland OVER 9.5 Points

I’m tailing our NBA guru Peter Dewey of BetSided on this prop for Bones tonight.

He’s been a little hit or miss the last four games, only going over this prop once, but the young guard has a secret to getting out of his mini-slump: “Keep shooting.”

Yet even amongst his struggles, Hyland is still shooting above 40% from 3-point range, and similar to the prop play on MPJ, the Suns are not a good 3-point defensive team.

Plus, Hyland ranks amongst some of the bigger names at point guard in the NBA for usage rate, trailing just Terry Rozier from improvement from last season to this year.

Hyland’s energy is contagious, and with a shoot-first mentality to get out of the slump he’s in, I expect the points to follow.

DeAndre Ayton UNDER 9.5 Rebounds

Ayton has failed to hit the over on this in three consecutive games vs. the Nuggets, with the last time being all the way back on January 23, 2021 when he went for 17 points and 13 boards.

Denver’s sharp-shooting from the outside, as well as Nikola Jokic’s ability to play and pass on the perimeter moves Ayton away from the basket more often than he’s accustomed to. As a result, he’s only averaged 7 rebounds per game in those last three games, including playing just over 30 minutes in those matchups.

His numbers can be a bit feast or famine, going over 11 rebounds in four of his six games, but in the other two, he’s gone for 5 and 3 boards respectively. I’ll take Ayton to be on the lower end once more to round out the Christmas day slate.
