The Denver Nuggets are looking to build their lead atop the Western Conference on Tuesday when they hit the road to take on the Sacramento Kings.

Denver has won four straight games, taking an overtime win over the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day behind a monster game from Nikola Jokic. With the New Orleans Pelicans winning on Monday night, Denver has just a half game lead in the West.

The Kings hold the No. 6 spot in the conference, but they could be in trouble with star Domantas Sabonis suffering a thumb injury. He’s going to attempt to play through it, but it may end up being too much for him to handle.

Sacramento has its sights set on the playoffs, so this a great test for the team, especially at home. Denver has been elite at home (11-3 straight up), but the team’s record slips a bit on the road, going 9-8 this season.

Here’s a look at the odds and a best bet for this Western Conference showdown:

Nuggets vs. Kings odds, spread and total

Nuggets vs. Kings prediction and pick

Denver has dominated the Western Conference this season, going 17-7 straight up, and it’s a big reason why the team is the No. 1 seed in the West.

Denver has also fared well as a road favorite, going 7-5 against the spread and straight up so far this season.

This game should be a good one with two elite offenses, but the potential loss of Sabonis is what’s holding me back from betting on the Kings here.

Sabonis is not only the team’s best rebounder, but he’s been a key playmaker and scorer this season, steadying the team’s offense.

The Kings have been a great team to bet on this season, going 19-12 against the spread, but I’m going to fade them in this spot and take Denver on the moneyline.

The Nuggets have won four straight and they are finally starting to get healthy with Michael Porter Jr. back in the lineup. Even if Sabonis plays, I think Denver has the edge in this matchup.
