According to Shams Charania, the Denver Nuggets will have the honor of being featured on the NBA’s Christmas Day slate. The Nuggets will be the nightcap at home hosting Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Curry and NBA Finals MVP Nikola Jokic are two of the league’s biggest stars so it only makes sense to have them face off on Christmas day.
What we know about the Denver Nuggets’ schedule so far
Nuggets fans should be thrilled with the fact that their team is being featured on some of the league’s biggest days of the year, as it was also announced that they would be playing on opening night vs the Los Angeles Lakers. Each season, the reigning champs are often showcased on opening night and Christmas Day. Plus, with the rising stardom of the Serbian big man, Jokic, fans can expect the team from the mile-high city to be on national television quite often.
In addition to these two huge matchups, it has also been revealed who Denver will return to the floor against in the preseason. In a five-game schedule, the Nuggets will play the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls home and away, as well as the Los Angeles Clippers twice on the road.
Nuggets fans should expect another huge season from their squad. The team will be bringing back all five of their starters. The only main rotational player they lost was Bruce Brown, who signed a two year, $45 million dollar deal with the Indiana Pacers in free agency. The Nuggets have continued to round out their bench this offseason and may have options on the roster to fill Brown’s pivotal role.
Returning their one-two punch in point guard Jamal Murray and the big man Jokic, will keep the Nuggets right in the mix to win another title in the 2023-2024 season. According to Draftkings Sportsbook, the Nuggets are the favorite to win the title at +475 right now. If healthy, they could be looking to go back to back.
