After a long layoff, the Denver Nuggets are back in action on Sunday night. The team played their first two preseason games across the world in Abu Dhabi, losing both games of their Global Games series to the Celtics last weekend.

Overall, the team looked pretty good, especially their superstar Nikola Jokic. There were also some interesting takeaways and promising developments. But multiple starters sat out the second game of the series so it’s important not to overreact.

Since then, the team has flown back to the United States and made their way back to Denver. They’ll kick off their preseason slate on US soil Sunday night when they host the Phoenix Suns in their third of five games before the regular season tips off.

When do the Nuggets play on Sunday?

The Nuggets’ third preseason game will take place on Sunday night at 6:30 PM MT live from Ball Arena in Denver. The Nuggets will take on the Suns who are 2-1 so far this preseason. These teams met in the playoffs two seasons ago and both have championship aspirations coming into this season.

How to watch the Nuggets game on Sunday night

Just like their first two preseason games, the tilt on Sunday night will be nationally televised, this time on ESPN. The game can also be streamed on the ESPN app as well as watched and listened to on local TV and radio via the Altitude Sports Network.

Will the Nuggets starters play vs the Suns on Sunday night?

Nuggets fans should expect to see most of the team’s rotation players in action on Sunday - at least in a limited capacity. Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. both sat out the Nuggets’ last preseason game and they are on the injury report again, but those were considered rest issues.

Peyton Watson, Russell Westbrook, and DeAndre Jordan are also listed as game-time decisions for Sunday night due to rest. Assuming everyone takes the court, it will be interesting to watch who starts for the Nuggets.

The team will likely play mostly normal rotations at least for the first half and possibly slightly beyond. With only three more tune-ups before the real games begin, the team should be looking to build some cohesiveness and stamina so that they can hit the ground running when the regular season begins next week.
