The Denver Nuggets recently signed Trevon Brazile to a four-year, $9.3 million contract. They selected him with the No. 35 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. And in the Nuggets’ Summer League game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, he was absolutely cooking in the first half.
In the first half, Brazile had 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the three-point line. And in the second half, he kept it moving. By the end of the night, Brazile had 32 points, six rebounds, and one steal on 11-of-19 shooting from the floor and 6-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc.
Brazile looks like he could be a real piece for the Nuggets moving forward.
Trevon Brazile just showed out in Summer League
For long stretches of the game on Tuesday – primarily in the first half – Brazile was the best player on the court. He was getting whatever he wanted and couldn’t miss from beyond the arc.
At the end of the half, he even nailed a crazy buzzer-beater with less than a second remaining on the game clock. His teammates went absolutely crazy, embracing him heading into the half.
Denver needs a nice infusion of youth on its roster. It has a solid base (though it could lose Peyton Watson to restricted free agency this summer) but could use some more young talent.
Brazile is 23 years old. A 6-foot-10 forward. He can defend well and clearly shoots the ball at a high level. He’s not the most consistent, but he’s liable to catch fire from beyond the three-point arc.
Having him around on a standard, long-term contract is great for the Nuggets, and his performance at Summer League on Tuesday was a perfect example of how he can impact the game.
That type of floor spacing at the forward position will be very valuable alongside Nikola Jokic. Shooting with size is always a good thing to have around in the NBA.
If he can bring even a fraction of that three-point shooting to the Nuggets, then they will be very happy with their draft pick, especially considering he still has plenty of room to grow.
Brazile has made a great first impression in Summer League so far. He’s the type of player fans can at least get a little excited about heading into next season.
Overreacting to Summer League is a dangerous game. Anything can happen moving forward. But Brazile’s performance on Tuesday was undoubtedly a good one.
