The Denver Nuggets have been busy making changes this offseason. They've turned over a good portion of the bench from last season, and they've even made some additions on the sidelines via the assistant coaching ranks. Even the Altitude broadcast crew, who had been the sound of the Nuggets for the last 20-plus years, were replaced in favor of new voices. So it's fitting that with all of the changes that are occurring, the Ball Arena floor finally got a shiny new upgrade, too. And what a lovely upgrade it is.

It's the first major redesign (not including the city edition or NBA Cup) of the court since 2018. Personally, I really like the new floor. Any Nuggets fan who likes the skyline jerseys (still the best jersey in the NBA, ever, but I could be a bit biased) should be happy with the newest iteration of the Nuggets hardwood.
The mountains look spectacular at mid-court. And most notably, the court itself has a two-toned wood look, giving it more of a rustic, mountain feel. It almost feels a bit like a new-age parquet-style court. It's cozy and warm, and should look great on TV.
The Nuggets kept the 5280 branding in the paint, but moved the pickaxes from under the rim to the side of the court next to the Mile High Basketball branding. The final major change is to the logo at center court. It's much smaller than before, and logo threes will be a lot more difficult to hit now.
The new court design should stick around for a bit
The Nuggets have been making small changes to the court since 2018, but this redesign represents the first major overhaul in seven seasons.
Prior to that redesign, the Nuggets had been playing on the powder-blue-and-gold court of the Carmelo Anthony era since the 2003-04 season. The only major change the floor saw over that time period was the introduction of the pickaxe logo to center court in place of the "DN" that had occupied that space.
Sure, rebrands and small changes could take place, but I think this court design could stick around for a few years based on how long the other iterations stuck around. It's visually appealing and clean, and keeps the history of the Nuggets firmly in view. Those sweet, sweet mountains and skyline are the best part of the new floor.
With all the changes going on, the question now popping into my head is whether the Nuggets will change mascot Rocky's appearance. Let's hope that one is off limits. Rocky's good the way he is.
