The Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns close out Wednesday night’s NBA slate on ESPN, and bettors and fans are in for a treat with the star power playing in this matchup.

Phoenix is in desperate need of a win, as the team has slipped to the No. 8 seed in the West while the Nuggets are holding a one-game lead on the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 1 seed.

I’m eyeing the prop market in this matchup, especially when it comes to stars Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic.

Let’s break down the top props for this standalone matchup on Wednesday:

Suns vs. Nuggets best NBA prop bets

  • Nikola Jokic OVER 7.5 assists
  • Kevin Durant OVER 25.5 points
  • Michael Porter Jr. OVER 2.5 3-pointers made

Nikola Jokic OVER 7.5 assists

We’re going to have to lay some juice here, but I’m willing to do it with Jokic, who is averaging 9.0 assists per game on the season.

While the two-time MVP has cleared 7.5 dimes in just nine of his 16 games since the All-Star break, he’s still averaging 9.1 assists per game over that stretch. Not only that, but Jokic had a 16-assist game earlier this season against the Suns before turning in just five dimes in their last meeting.

I’ll bet on him getting closer to his season average in this one.

Kevin Durant OVER 25.5 points

Kevin Durant has torched Denver for 30 and 35 points in the two meetings between these teams, taking 34 shots in his last game against the Nuggets.

While I don’t expect that kind of usage for Durant, I do expect some sense of urgency with the team looking to avoid the play-in tournament in the Western Conference.

Durant has scored 26 or more points in just one of his last seven games, which is a concern, but he’s also seen his shots go down over this stretch, attempting less than 20 in every game. I’d imagine Phoenix tries to involve him here as it looks to steal a game from the Nuggets.

Michael Porter Jr. OVER 2.5 3-pointers made

Michael Porter Jr. has been on fire from 3-point range as of late, hitting three or more shots from beyond the arc in nine of his last 13 games.

The Nuggets sharpshooter is averaging 3.2 made 3s per game on 6.7 attempts over that 13-game stretch (47.1 percent from 3).

MPJ took 12 shots from deep in his last meeting with the Suns, making four of them, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him have a big game against a Suns team that ranks 23rd in the NBA in 3-pointers allowed per game.
