Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic only took three shots in his team's 131-114 win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday night. The big man tallied four points, 16 assists, seven rebounds, and five blocks in just 25 minutes of play.
After Denver secured the victory, frustrated Pistons fans took to Reddit to chime in on how impressive The Joker was in the recent matchup.
Reddit user "HarnessedInHopes" posted the following comment in Detroit's subreddit community.
"Don't think I've ever seen a star averaging 25+ decide not to shoot for an entire game just for fun and still dominate like Jokic. Dude could have casually dropped 25 assists if he played 35 minutes. Wholly unique player."
Another Pistons fan, "DroughtFloodFamine" replied, saying that Jokic's "don't shoot just for fun" game might be the most embarrassing thing to happen to the team all season.
"Yeah, no lie that may have been the most embarrassing thing to happen to us this season. Jokic usually doesn't give a f--- about playing us, but this was a new low."
Jamal Murray shines for Denver Nuggets in win over Detroit Pistons
While Jokic was having fun against Detroit, it was Jamal Murray who carried the scoring load for Denver. The star guard poured in 37 points for the Nuggets on 14-of-24 from the field, and dished out nine assists to go on the side.
Following the big win, his teammate Peyton Watson explained that Murray had called his shot prior to tip off.
"He stamped it before the game," Watson told reporters (h/t DNVR Sports). "He said, 'I'm going to get Defensive Player of the Game.' He also said he's going to get 20 assists, but he ended up having almost 40 points."
Watson wasn't half bad himself. He gave the Nuggets 15 points off of the bench against Detroit and also helped secure six rebounds.
