The 2024 NBA draft gets underway on Wednesday night with all 30 picks of the first round taking place. Here’s everything you need to know about the big event before it gets underway.

What time is the draft?

The draft officially gets started Wednesday, June 26th at 8 PM EST and 6 PM MT. The Atlanta Hawks won the draft lottery and they hold the first pick, so they hold all the cards and are scheduled to make the first pick in the draft. The Hawks will be on the clock once the event starts. The Wizards have the second pick, the Rockets will pick third, the Spurs have the fourth pick, and the Pistons will pick fifth.

How to watch the draft?

The draft will be televised nationally on ABC and ESPN and available to be streamed on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. The event will be broadcast live in its entirety with every pick shown and immediate reaction, highlights, breakdowns, and analysis. ESPN’s top newsbreakers like Adrian Wojnarowski will be on hand to tackle all the late-breaking trade news as well.

Where is the draft?

The draft will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York in front of a full house of fans from all over.

When is the second round?

The second and final round of the draft will take place on Thursday, June 27th at Barclays Center. Round 2 will get underway at 4 PM EST (2 PM MT) and will be broadcast on all the same networks.

What picks do the Nuggets have?

The Denver Nuggets currently hold the 28th overall pick, which is late in the first round and should happen around 10 PM MT on Wednesday night. The team also has the 56th pick overall, which is the 26th pick of the second round. Barring any trades, they’ll make that pick on Thursday afternoon.

It’s a big couple of days for the franchise as it’s imperative they use these assets wisely. Hopefully, the team can come away with two solid players who can help the team right away, or they are able to trade one (or both) pick(s) for somebody who can come in and be an immediate difference-maker.
