The Nuggets won again on Tuesday night, making it 11 of 14 and 10 out of 11 wins with Nikola Jokic in the lineup. The team is definitely hitting its stride and the last four games have all been impressive, blowout victories.

Denver has found a lot of things that are working well for them. Jamal Murray has finally found a rhythm and is playing the best basketball we’ve seen from him in a long time. Aaron Gordon is back healthy and has been willfully coming off the bench to provide a spark and make the rotations fall into place.

As the supporting cast has picked up its game, Nikola Jokic has remained his rock-steady self as usual. He has been the constant for this team and the best player in the entire league. Now that his teammates are playing at a higher level, Jokic has kept humming along at his ridiculously high level.

Jokic has recorded triple-double in just 3 quarters in 4 straight games

On a long list of impressive feats, Jokic’s most recent accomplishment has to be one of his most impressive to date. The Joker has now recorded a triple-double in four straight games without playing a single minute of a fourth quarter.

The Nuggets have been trouncing opponents by such a margin that Jokic has been able to rest for the fourth quarter while the bench takes the game home in four consecutive contests. But despite Jokic’s relatively light recent minutes load, his stats haven’t suffered.

He has been able to achieve a triple-double during the third quarter in recent wins over the 76ers, Magic, Heat, and Mavericks. Not a single time in this stretch has Jokic even had to surpass 30 minutes played, keeping his minutes way down and getting to conserve energy.

Jokic first with triple-double through 3 quarters in more than 2 straight games

If this sounds like a rare achievement, that’s because it is. In fact, prior to now, no player has ever recorded a triple-double without playing the fourth quarter in more than two straight games. Jokic has already doubled that, doing it in four straight games, and the streak is still alive.

Jokic obviously isn’t gunning for this streak specifically, but it just speaks to his style of play and how quickly he can impact a game. Joker will try to keep the streak going next time the Nuggets take the court on Thursday when they’ll face the Kings in Ball Arena.
