Not only that, they need that star presence that can take over a game at any point in the game to truly be a force to be reckoned with. When the trade deadline neared last season, the Clippers actually offered a deal to the Denver Nuggets that they declined which involved the star.
Ever since entering the league out of Oklahoma, Griffin has been one of the main faces of the Los Angeles Clippers, and would be that star player that the Nuggets long for. This being said, he had a few off-court issues last season that caused him to miss some games, but his stats show that he knows what he is doing with the basketball. Over his career Griffin has averaged almost 22 points and ten rebounds, while also shooting an impressive 52 percent from the field.
Considering the star power and talent that Griffin possesses, the Nuggets would have to give up quite a bit to get him. This being said, with the Clippers reaching out last season, they are aware of what LA will want.
