At first, sources believed Wade was using the Nuggets for leverage, so the Heat would be forced to match any offer Wade received. But Wade did have interest actually playing in Denver; the Nuggets, Bulls and Heat were the teams that he ended up choosing from. He ultimately signed with the Bulls, going back to his home town.

Attracting free agents has been a problem in Denver for nearly a decade, and now it seems the tables have turned.
