Denver Nuggets @ New Orleans Pelicans

October 26 is opening night for the Denver Nuggets in New Orleans, Louisiana.  An opening night contest on the road will begin to set the tone for the season and the first ten games.

More from Nugg Love

Last season the Nuggets went 1-2 vs the Pelicans; the Nuggets averaged nearly 112 points per game during the season series with the Pelicans. While allowing the Pelicans to average 109 points per game on the offensive end. Defensive commitment from the Nuggets will be key to taking this year’s season series.

The Pelicans and Nuggets both look to challenge for a lower playoff seed in the very tough western conference during the 2016-2017 season.

The Pelicans finished last season at 30-52 and three games behind the Nuggets. This opening night game will have both teams wanting to show their commitment to being improved at the start of the season. Assuming Anthony Davis is back from a preseason injury, limiting Davis’s inside game will prove to be difficult but not impossible with Jokic and Nurkic manning the low post.

Win/Loss Rating: Even. (0-0-Even)
