Nuggets waive Mike Miller
The Nuggets have officially waived Mike Miller.
The Denver Nuggets announced on Tuesday that they have waived veteran guard Mike Miller. The Nuggets were forced to make a decision by Wednesday when Miller’s $3.5 million contract would have became guaranteed for the 2017-2018 season. Denver tweeted this out after making the announcement official.
Miller will now become an unrestricted free agent and will be free to sign with any team he wants. The past two seasons have been quite the ride with Mike as he’s been nothing but a pro’s pro during his time with this young squad. His help with the young roster can not be preached enough and he really has been an important piece to the puzzle in Denver’s culture change. His contribution on the court was never anything to get to excited about, but enough can’t be said about his contribution off of it.

Things Denver fans may miss most with Mike Miller gone is him playing one-on-one with Nikola Jokic during almost every pre-game at all of the games. He and Jokic would always be posting each other in pre-game and trash talk was not only allowed but encouraged. Someone will now most certainly have to take the task of being first guy off the bench during timeouts because Miller was always the first one out there. There were also always those game’s that the team was losing or up by 20 and in the final minutes the crowd at Pepsi Center would start the “We want Miller” chants all in good fun.
Next: Miller's future in doubt
He was spotted at the Nuggets summer league this past weekend so who knows there could be something in the works for a new contract, coaching position, or even a front office position if he chooses to retire. If this really is it though and his time with the Denver organization is over there’s only one thing left to say, “Thank you.”
