First things first, extend Nikola Jokic’s contract.

When Nikola Jokic first came over from Serbia, many Nuggets fans saw him as another European

developmental player. I won’t lie, I kind of thought the same thing. I think it is safe to say that he proved all of those people, including myself, incredibly wrong. Not only did he become a superstar in the NBA in just two seasons, he gave the Nuggets a glimmer of hope for the future.

That’s why he deserves to get PAID. He has every right to be like Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire, because the Nuggets need to show him the money.

All jokes aside, Jokic has become one of the better centers in the league after only his second season. He’s a one of a kind and special player, with one of the few things needing to be improved is his defense. His passing skills for a big man are unrivaled in the NBA, and he seems like a player who would stay loyal to the Nuggets. That being said, Jokic could also get a lot of money elsewhere if the Nuggets do not jump on him now.

I love this team with the leadership of Jokic. Personally, I believe that the Nuggets were one of the more fun teams to watch in the NBA last season. Jokic is starting to get to the superstar level as well, as in people will buy tickets just to watch him play. This really isn’t a no-brainer by any means for a Nuggets fan, as Jokic is the future of the team.
