Many are saying the Denver Nuggets are following the path of the Golden State Warriors which makes one wonder if the two will meet in a Western Conference Finals in the distant future?

The Denver Nuggets have been doing the rebuild process the correct way. They have drafted well, not been hasty with many decisions and have even now landed a star in Paul Millsap.

With this, the pieces are starting to fall into place for the Nuggets to be a legitimate threat in the future to the rest of the league. A couple days ago, there was a post by Sports Center saying who is most like the Warriors as of right now.

Not, this is not exactly the Warriors, only similar to, and the answer was the Denver Nuggets. They said the Nugget closely resemble to 2014 Warrior squad which you will note, knocked Denver out of the first round of the playoffs.

If both Golden State and Denver keep their core somewhat intact and retain their stars, we may be on a crash course for a Western Conference Finals in the very distant future between the two teams.

Think about it. Guys like Jokic, Harris and Murray will be in their prime and the star quad of Golden State, provided they stay, will be reaching the downhill slope of their career, but still be effective enough to will their team far. The “Chauncey Billups,” phase as I like to call it since Billups was out of his prime when he came back to Denver, but was still playing at an All Star level.

Let us be honest. A Nuggets teams in their prime hitting their stride against a seasoned, yet still star studded Warriors team would make for a great seven game series.

We will see if it happens in the distant future.
