The Denver Nuggets could have a sleeper second unit next year.

The Denver Nuggets have a very deep roster. They will have an almost too crowded roster. However, they have plenty of talent.

The bench could possibly become a top-10 second unit in the NBA even after having a fairly decent season last year. Now, the bench will possess even more weapons. Trey Lyles is not a household name, but he can still show spurts of solid play and could fit in well with the Nuggets’ core and thrive off the bench.

Mason Plumlee will most likely come back after having a fairly decent stint with the Nuggets backing up Nikola Jokic in the second half of the season last year. Juancho Hernangomez, Malik Beasley and Jamal Murray will have a year of experience under their belt and should continue to grow as players. Will Barton will be playing out the final year of his contract and will be campaigning for a hefty deal from potential suitors.

Plus, there is also the plethora of power forwards who can be solid off the bench. With Paul Millsap coming to the Mile High, Kenneth Faried will be relegated to the bench and will have a solid rotation with Darrell Arthur still being a solid anchor. The jury is still out on the new rookie Tyler Lydon, but stranger things have happened.

Denver has a great looking roster and should continue to grow and improve as time goes on. With this in mind, one should not sleep on the Nuggets’ second unit and they could surprise many fans this upcoming year.
