It’s been a long time since MVP chants have echoed through the Pepsi Center.

However, following Jokic’s 41 point game against the Nets Tuesday night that is exactly what happened. In his post game interview Nikola was Nikola by laughing and calling the chants “funny”.

More from Nugg Love

And sure, he is right. Nikola Jokic is not in the running for MVP. But, Denver has a star and the fans know it. Nikola Jokic finished the game with 41 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Nuggets 112-104 victory over the Nets.

When asked if the fans will be cheering “MVP” for him or Westbrook in tonight’s game against the Thunder, Nikola again, stayed humble. Cracking jokes through the whole interview he gave credit to Russell Westbrook. He said that Westbrook was the MVP and that tonight was just “one good game” for him. Check out the Nuggets selfless star yourself.

Tonight the humble Serbian star will go head to head with the reigning MVP. This important division game will be an important test for Jokic and this young Nuggets team.

Next: Millsap vs Anthony

Jokic will be going up against a tough and physical Steven Adams while Millsap has his hands full with the former Nugget, Carmelo Anthony. If Jokic can repeat his 41 point performance, then more MVP chants will be ringing out through Pepsi Center. If he keeps up this level of play, he just may be in the MVP conversation.
