Gary Harris will most likely play in the upcoming game against the Pelicans.

Denver Nuggets shooting guard, Gary Harris, has missed the last two games due to a sore shoulder.

More from Nugg Love

The shoulder sidelined him for a blowout win over the Orlando Magic and a key loss to the division rival Portland Trail Blazers. After sitting  out about a week to heal, he will most likely be ready to play in the next game against the 8-7 New Orleans Pelicans.

The X-rays came back negative and he did, in fact go through a recent practice which is a great sign for the Nuggets. They will need him in this next game as they will need someone to slow down the very fast, Jrue Holliday. Harris is the best perimeter defender Denver possesses which makes him the most qualified to guard Holliday and/or Rajon Rondo.

Head coach Michael Malone had this to say about the shooting guard and his status for the upcoming match up with the Pelicans.

"“I would be surprised if he doesn’t play on Friday night.” Coach Malone"

Harris will be key in this game as the Pelicans strength lies in their two stars in the front court, Demarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis.

While they keep Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap occupied, the Nuggets will look for every advantage they can get on the perimeter and Gary Harris will be someone who New Orleans will have a difficult time finding an answer for.

Look for the Nuggets to free him up for some wide open jump shots from three point territory by setting some off ball screens and trying to get him to cut to the rim for some easy looks at the basket to keep the New Orleans defense honest.
