After a couple impressive games, Wilson Chandler has came back down to earth showcasing his inconsistency this year.

Wilson Chandler has been a frustrating player to watch for Nuggets Nation this season.

More from Nugg Love

He was inserted into the starting rotation after the departure of Danilo Gallinari to make room for the star, Paul Millsap. Many believed he would make the most of this opportunity considering he was frustrated with his role coming off the bench last season.

However, he has been incredibly underwhelming this year. Yes, he did have back problems to begin the season, but it is on him to get healthy and let the staff know when he needs to recover.  And, yes, I did just say he was the missing link for us, but I was apparently wrong as he is back to putting up terrible numbers again.

This begs the question, is it time to trade the veteran small forward? Well, before you get angry, keep in mind this is a veteran who only scored a total of two points in 33 minutes of play in the loss to the 76ers.

On top of this, he is averaging a player efficiency rating of 10.4 this year per basketball-reference.com. This is a significant decrease in this category from his career average of 13.5. He also possesses an offensive box/plus minus of -0.9 compared to his average of 0.4 last year. His defensive box plus/minus is also massively low at an average of -0.4.

Chandler needs to start walking his talk if he really feels he deserves his starting spot which he made a huge deal about last season. Otherwise, it is certainly time to part ways with him and gets someone younger and with a lot more potential in a trade.

The Nuggets have been more than patient with Chandler and it is time to show him some tough love. Either start producing, or get traded for someone who will do your job better at the starting spot.

It is safe to assume many fans have lost their own patience with Chandler this season.
