Ever since Paul Millsap came back, Nikola Jokic has taken a back seat which has caused some concern over his regression.

Nikola Jokic had an insane month of February. He averaged a triple double and if there were MVP’s for each month, he would easily win it for that month out of the entire league.

However, since All Star, Paul Millsap, came back, Jokic’s progress has taken a bit of a hit. Suddenly he hasn’t been getting into double figures for scoring in the past couple of match ups and seems to be deferring a lot more than usual. This has caused some concern within the Nuggets fan base and even has some panicking.

While he does need to pick up the pace a bit, there is little reason to worry about the Joker. Keep in mind, a four time All Star just got inserted back into the lineup who is used to being the number one option which takes away touches for everyone else.

Plus, the spacing has to re-adjust now and the Nuggets have to find a way to get Millsap within the flow of things once again. Jokic has had a couple of duds as of late, but there is no reason to think this will last. Keep in mind, before Millsap got hurt, the two were finally starting to co-exist like the star duo we expected them to be in the off season.

Jokic had an underwhelming start to the year too, but he eventually picked up the slack. Jokic will get back to his solid numbers again, but what matters right now is the team success and getting the team to the post season.

If that means Jokic has to take a back seat once in a while, then he will be more than willing to do so for the sake of the team’s success.
