LeBron James continues to will this young Cavs team to the post season despite the struggles. Meanwhile, Denver’s veteran All Star, Paul Millsap, is still trying to fit back into the Nuggets’ starting rotation.
The match up between these two in this game will be crucial despite them playing different positions. Millsap is a power forward while James is a small forward, however, we all know LeBron can play any position on the court.
Both of these players know each other well as Millsap saw James many times throughout his stint in Atlanta, which included an Eastern Conference Finals match up a few seasons ago. Millsap is capable of defending LeBron in the low post, so Cleveland must be wary of this fact.
On the other side, Denver just has to do their best to contain the best player in the league. He will get his, there is no other way to state it, but if Millsap and the team can do just enough to keep him below his averages and limit the production of those around him, then Denver’s chances of victory will increase ten fold.
Millsap is trying to co-exist with Nikola Jokic right now, but this is the type of game made for him. A game where the four time All Star can take control on national television and show why he is worth his hefty contract while dueling with another star which has a lot of experience dealing with while he was in the Eastern Conference.
