Signing Nikola Jokic long term: A+

This one is a no brainer. For a franchise which has seen star players leave them high and dry for bigger market teams, it was imperative for them to lock up Jokic before he hit the free agent market.

More from Nugg Love

Jokic possesses the talent which would have had big market teams salivating and ready to throw buckets of cash towards the Serbian sensation’s way. Luckily, the front office was smart and made signing Jokic their number one priority this off season.

They wasted no time in giving him a new and lucrative deal worth $148 million for four years. This is great for both sides.

Jokic gets to continue to develop on the same team that drafted him and we get at least four more seasons of dazzling Jokic highlight reel passes. This is the same big man who averaged 6.1 assists last year, terrific numbers for a center.

Jokic is now the cemented leader of this team, now it is time to see the Denver Nuggets take the next step in the process of improving their progress from year to year.
