Denver Nuggets player of the game vs. N.O.
By Mathew Huff
The Denver Nuggets got a key win over the Pelicans and Gary Harris had a lot to do with this victory.
Gary Harris of the Denver Nuggets certainly can do it all. If you don’t believe it, then check out this piece by our former writer and now site expert, Michael Longhofer.
Harris had some key momentum shifting plays in the win with a couple of steals and even should have had three steals depending on how you want to look at the combined defensive effort on a play by Jamal Murray and Harris where stripped the ball.
Harris was also tied for the game high in points along with his back court buddy as they both came away with 23 points.

Not to mention, he had a block as well and held Solomon Hill to a total of zero points! That is right, Hill did not score once on Gary in 13 possessions.
Against E’Twaun Moore, he held him to only two points and did not let Jrue Holiday to a single point either.
His defensive impact has gone underrated so far this season as he has been averaging a career best defensive rating of 106 along with 1.2 steals per game and a steal percentage of 1.7%, but his offensive impact has been on a whole new level as well!
So far this season, he has averaged a career high 20 points per game to go along with an insane offensive rating of 126. If he keeps up this level of play, then he very well could be an All Star this year, even in the stacked Western Conference which seems to have All Star guard after All Star guard.
If you watched the game, it is clear that Gary Harris was the best Nugget on the floor for this particular night. Hopefully, he will continue this high level of play going forward. The Lakers game was most likely just an anomaly as his whole body of work so far in this young season has been impressive to say the least.
Who knows, we could see him in Most Improved Player of the Year discussions later on in the year. Without Gary Harris, the Nuggets would have most likely lost this game.
