The Denver Nuggets are coming off a blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors and were bounced from the top seed in the Western Conference.

That being said, the Denver Nuggets are only one game out of that top spot and that was one of 82 games. The Nuggets have a game against the Bulls and a chance to right the ship.

The team is still getting healthy and inserting different players into the lineup.

The standings and the future still look bright.

Denver must simply get back to their winning ways as Nikola Jokic is only two games removed from a truly MVP type of performance against the Blazers and offensively, the Nuggets looked just fine against a historically hot Warriors squad.

Jamal Murray looked to be on pace for another great scoring night against Golden State before the game got out of hand and Malik Beasley added another good scoring boost to the team.

The return of Gary Harris  should help with the defensive deficiencies that have popped up at times for the Nuggets. Beyond that, Denver will have to win games while forming a familiarity with a changing rotation.

Overall though the Nuggets are a healthier version of the same team that led the conference before the Golden State loss.

The journey to the top starts against the Bulls at the Pepsi Center where the Nuggets hope to start a new home winning streak after having their last one broken up by the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

Denver probably needs to improve defensively to continue to compete for the Western crown, but the Bulls, nor any other team are likely to shoot the ball the way Golden State did on Tuesday night.

So the Nuggets need to restart the winning ways and get healthy bodies in the lineup. They will get another shot at the Warriors before we know it.

Until then they’ll have to do their best to defeat everyone else they face.
