Graham Takes Off For Cleveland

AUTHOR: madness | IN: Nuggets News | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Denver Nuggets small forward Joey Graham will follow assistant coach Jamahl Mosley to Cleveland. Graham signed a two-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and could be the Cavaliers replacement of LeBron James.
Graham averaged 4.2 points and 2 rebounds for the Nuggets in 63 games. Graham saved his best for last after scoring 21 points in the Game 6 versus the Utah Jazz.
Some Nuggets fans felt Graham deserved more minutes with Denver, but he was too inconsistent to deserve more times on the floor and wasn’t a reliable enough scorer to get consistent time. One of Graham’s biggest weaknesses is he [...]

Mosley Leaves Nuggets For Cleveland Job

AUTHOR: madness | IN: Nuggets | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Denver Nuggets lost assistant coach Jamahl Mosley to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mosley, who has been an assistant coach/player development for the Nuggets the previous three years and was with the organization for five seasons, will be an assistant for Cavs new coach Byron Scott.
Mosley played four years in Boulder and also spent two seasons in Australia and one year in Spain. Him and fellow assistant coach John Welsch worked individually with the players and Mosley worked with the players routines before each game. He worked with JR Smith with his three-point shooting, free-throw shooting and one-on-one drill, he [...]

Denver Nuggets’ star point guard Chauncey Billups will be leading a young and talented USA World Championship team into the FIBA World Championship at the end of August.
Billups leadership skills has been second to none in Denver, guiding them to the Western Conference Finals in 2009 and leading this last year’s squad after head coach George Karl went out with his battle with cancer.
Billups, 33 years old, is the oldest member of the team and is joined by the Los Angeles Lakers versatile forward Lamar Odom as the team’s leaders. This will be his second time playing at the world [...]

Could The Hornets Loss Be The Nuggets Gain?

AUTHOR: madness | IN: Analysis | COMMENTS: None Yet

Now that Chris Paul has stupidly followed LeBron James’s advice of asking for a trade, it seems likely that the New Orleans Hornets are going to need to make a move and the Nuggets could benefit from it.
If/when Paul is moved it seems likely that the Hornets are going to need to cut salaries and start rebuilding around second-year point guard Darren Collison. If this is the case, Emeka Okafor’s $52 million/4 year contract could be moved in order to cut salaries. And an offer of Kenyon Martin’s expiring contract, Renaldo Balkman for Emeka Okafor and James Posey ($13.4 million/2 [...]

Do The Nuggets Really Need Chris Paul?

AUTHOR: madness | IN: Analysis | COMMENTS: None Yet

CP3 is looking for a new address and his No. 1 choice is New York, where he wants Denver’s very own Carmelo Anthony to join him there. And of course since Chris Paul has come out and said he wants out of New Orleans, Denver Nuggets fans want the Nugs to make a play for Paul – especially if it means Anthony will stay in Denver.
However, would Paul really make Anthony stay? Especially considering that Melo is already playing with a veteran point guard like Chauncey Billups, who is a proven winner and is best leader in the game. The [...]

Have The Nuggets Fallen Behind In The West?

AUTHOR: madness | IN: Analysis | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Despite the Denver Nuggets adding Al Harrington and Shelden Williams, they somehow have fallen behind Dallas, Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Utah in the West, at least according to many of the so-called experts, who once again see the Nuggets as an afterthought to compete with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dallas has swapped Erick Dampier for Tyson Chandler, Utah has replaced Carlos Boozer with Al Jefferson and Oklahoma City has added Cole Aldrich and San Antonio has brought over Tiago Splitter. However, it is hard to see many of these moves providing much separation from the Nuggets this offseason.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS [...]

Brad Miller or Al Harrington?

AUTHOR: madness | IN: Nuggets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

That seemed to be who the Nuggets had to choose between after missing out on Jermaine O’Neal and Udonis Haslem. And it is pretty surprising, or not so surprising, that the Nuggets went with Al Harrington over Brad Miller.
Not saying it was a bad choice, but considering the Nuggets need for a center and that they already had a pretty good scoring team, it seemed Miller was the most likely candidate for the Nuggets.
But instead Denver gave the 6-foot-9 Harrington a five-year deal at $33.4 million (last two seasons are only partially guaranteed). The 30-year-0ld has a career scoring average [...]
